Following the agreement to proceed with any Insurance products, and in particular the Life Insurance, Critical Illness Cover and Income Protection, we will then go through a detailed health questionnaire, so that a decision can be made if the insurance provider is willing to insure you.
The cover could be auto agreed, the premium could be loaded if more risky cover needed due to health issues, a referral to the life underwriter could happen, a referral to the GP could happen or it could decline.
With mortgage protection cover such as Life Insurance and Critical Illness cover, this would normally be set upon "Risk" on exchange of contracts of the property to ensure you are fully covered if something were to happen, as you are legally bound to buying the property at this point.
General Insurance
With Building and Contents Insurance, this would be set up on exchange of contracts, however there are no medical questions as this insurance focusses on the property itself.
It can be mandatory to have building insurance in place when buying a property with a mortgage, we can help get this ready for you to put in force on exchange of contracts.
